breedlovejumbo:I preordered it, so I'll get it when my monthly shipment arrives. I'm looking forward to it.
On that note, due to strong reorders, Seekers #1 was re-released last week (June 6th). Having finally read the first issue, what's my verdict?
The book is pretty good.
I was curious about Seekers because of its novel premise of kids travelling through time via a magical MP3 player. What I got was an all ages adventure in the best sense of the word. Seekers isn’t sappy because the title characters face all too real issues like annoying big sisters, church cliques, and shady adults (the devilish Steven Dark). This realism also makes the heroes’ time travelling all the more amazing and refreshingly fun. (I say “refreshingly” since we need a balance to the dark and serious comics.)
Incidentally, the time travel aspect of Seekers opens possibilities for all kinds of stories. It's also a great way to spark kids' and even adults' interest in history.
So, Seekers is definitely on my pull list.
