The Guardian Line

Of all the issues so far, THE SEEKERS #3 comes closest to how I originally envisioned this series, storywise.

So, when is #3 scheduled for release?

I'm not sure when THE SEEKERS #3 is scheduled to ship.  The book is supposed to be bi-monthly, but the change in artists may have contributed to the delay.

The preview pages I've posted here will have to tide you over until the finished product hits the shelves.  And yes, I know how it sounds . . . a time-travel book that's late.  Hilarious.

You can, however, pick up the latest issues of CODE and JOE & MAX this week, if you're looking to get your Guardian on.  Jason Medley comes correct on JOE & MAX issue after issue.

There's no way I'd be able to wait two years to find out what's going on in any of the Guardian titles!

It may help you to know that, although they are all ongoing series, a new major storyline usually begins every four issues . . . and there are big plans underway to kick off the fifth issues of each book. 

I'm particularly excited about GENESIS 5 #5.

That said, events from the first four issues of THE SEEKERS set the stage for the next four, so, even though one story draws to a close with THE SEEKERS #4, the saga continues, much like the original STAR WARS film and its sequels and prequels.

I'm glad you liked the first two issues of THE SEEKERS and appreciate the kind words from you, zeraze, and others.

So this series is not a 12-issue story. These 12 stories will be 3 4-issue stories? or did I misunderstand? Are all the series of the Guardian Line that way?

One more question. Do you see any of the other creators of the Guardian Line? Why don't the creators of CODE and JOE & MAX post on the forum? That's one thing I appreciate about you, Mr. McCarthy. You always keep us informed and converse with us. THanks for answering 5 billion questions.

THE SEEKERS is an ongoing, bimonthly title, offered as a 12-issue subscription that can be ordered through this Website.  This means, as long as there is interest in THE SEEKERS, there will be a 13th issue and beyond.  That goes for the other Guardian Line titles as well.

THE SEEKERS is written in what could be described as "four-issue story arcs."  So, although I try to deliver a satisfying story in each issue of THE SEEKERS, that can be enjoyed on its own (without having to read any of the OTHER issues) each four-issue stretch tells a larger story which more or less concludes with that fourth issue.  The fifth issue generally begins a new story arc.

However, there are elements in the first four issues of THE SEEKERS which won't play out until much later in the series.  As an example, without giving too much away, in THE SEEKERS #2, Nila applies to the Steven Dark Academy, but we won't begin to see significant development of that particular storyline until THE SEEKERS #5.

I have met, and count among my friends, many of the Guardian Line creators.  Since we share a "comics universe" and a main character in Steven Dark, we occasionally compare notes to make sure we aren't contradicting each other in our stories.  But I don't generally see them unless we're all attending a convention somewhere.

I can't really speak as to why the other Guardian Line creators do or don't post on the forum, except to say that since many posters (you included) use codenames, it's possible they ARE posting, but wish to remain anonymous.

I think we can all expect to see THE SEEKERS #3 some time this month (October).

Maybe Tulsa's comic-book fans/comic-book shops should organize a show of their own.  If you build it, they will come.

But St. Paul is only about 700 miles away from Tulsa.  If you leave now, you could be there in plenty of time for FallCon, and get a personalized drawing of Grio. 

Or, you could use an mp3 player/time machine, leave whenever you want, and still get there in plenty of time.

Jason Medley comes correct on JOE & MAX issue after issue.

That isn't just hype.  Jason Medley's (JOE & MAX) dialogue, particularly between Joe and Linda, feels genuine.

And Mike Baron's (CODE) subplot, where a university professor "challenges" God to knock him off of a stage, and how it was resolved, is a personal favorite.

But I'm most excitied about what's in store for GENESIS 5, which begins a new storyline in a new direction with its fifth issue.  I can't say more about it just yet, but anyone who enjoys THE SEEKERS might want to give GENESIS 5 #5 a try.
